Our elementary core academics span multi-age and multi-ability courses in Mathematics, English and Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. We cover all state standards, but with life based skills in mind. Students grasp real-world concepts through different learning styles, engaging field trips, and unique and creative learning environments.

This class provides an introduction to middle school level writing, grammar, literature, and discussion and analysis of literary themes. We will cover parts of speech, sentence structure, vocabulary, creative and persuasive writing, age-appropriate reading comprehension, and we will gain a deeper understanding of classic literary works.
This class provides an intermediate level of high school writing, grammar, literature, and discussion and analysis of literary themes. We will cover parts of speech, sentence structure, vocabulary, creative and persuasive writing, age-appropriate reading comprehension, and we will gain a deeper understanding of classic literary works.
This is a math course that introduces students to algebraic concepts and how to use them to solve problems. Students learn to use variables, work with letters as variables in mathematical expressions and equations, graph functions, plot functions on graphs, solve equations, use equations to solve problems, understand inequalities, understand how to work with inequalities, apply concepts to real world, and use algebra to solve real-world problems.
This is a math course that builds on the knowledge of Algebra 1 to explore and analyze various types of functions, as well as other mathematical concepts such as: Functions- learning about linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, radical, and trigonometric functions, Equations and inequalities- building on their previous knowledge to solve, represent, and reason about equations and inequalities numerically and graphically, Matrices- learning to use matrices in various formats to determine data relationships, Real-world applications- applying functions to real-life scenarios, Statistics and probability- gaining an understanding of these concepts.
This class will focus on the people, events, and historical documents from the time of the Revolutionary War through today and will give an overview of the Founding Fathers, presidents, elements of government and leadership, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill Rights, the Gettysburg Address, amendments, and more.
This class will study the earth's structure, composition, processes, and history, as well as its place in the universe. Students learn about the Earth's oceans, atmosphere, and climate, and how these factors have contributed to the planet's geologic history. They also study Earth's interactions with the solar system, Milky Way Galaxy, and the universe.
This class will provide an introduction to biology, the study of life and organisms! It covers the structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution of living organisms, as well as their interactions with each other and their environments. Students will strive to understand the basic principles of biology and the scientific method, gain a knowledge of cellular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, and human anatomy. Students will also develop critical thinking and laboratory skills through experiments and hands-on activities, as well as analyze and interpret scientific data.

INTRODUCTION TO CHOIR - This fun class will cover introductory level general music curriculum, music appreciation, basic music theory, vocal techniques, blending, solo performance techniques, and more! The choir will perform with the school at two showcase concerts during the first semester!

INTRODUCTION TO DANCE - This class will cover introductory level dance and movement techniques, body control, basic movement skills, rhythm, stage performance techniques, and more. The students will practice a variety of styles and will incorporate multiple dance genres to give them a well-rounded introduction to dance. They will participate in two showcase performances during the first semester.

INTRODUCTION TO ACTING - Our youngest students will love this fun and fast-paced acting class where all students interact and participate all the time! Students will take part in an introductory level curriculum in role-playing, public speaking, improvisational games, and creative and quick-thinking, all while building confidence and self esteem. Students will work together as a team to build characters and storytell in the classroom and build foundational skills in performing arts in preparation for their second semester stage production!

MUSICAL THEATRE PRODUCTION- Students in this second semester course will build upon their skills to produce a collaborative musical production! All students will take part in an audition, learn to build new characters, incorporate singing, dancing, vocal, and movement skills, further their story-telling techniques, and build upon their stage presentation skills as they put on their show. Students will work together to present this musical production to the parents during their second semester of school.

INTRODUCTION TO THEATRE - This course is a broad introduction to theater. Students will have opportunities to build performance skills through improvisational games, script reading, basic theatre vocabulary and terminology, introduction to vocal and stage movement, and in-class scene performances. They will learn to evaluate and respond to performance through the reading and viewing of plays. They will additionally connect the productions of today with the Greek Chorus, Disney with Shakespeare, Hollywood with Jane Austen, etc. Students will connect with their peers through daily activities requiring them to play, move, interact, and grow.

MUSICAL THEATRE PRODUCTION - Students will combine with the performing arts classes to produce a full length school musical. They will hone critical acting skills such as audition techniques, character development, plot and character analysis, breaking down scenes/beats, and connecting character to movement (including stage combat opportunities) as they move through the process of staging a musical. Students will also expand upon vocal and singing techniques, delivery of musical pieces, plus dance and theatrical movement during the course of staging the production. Student actors will additionally develop skills and characteristics that can lead to greater life success - commitment, responsibility, connection to peers, increased confidence, deepened cultural knowledge, personal presence, and improved reading, speaking, singing, and movement skills. This class will culminate with performances of the full length musical both during the school day and occasionally outside of the school day.

INTRODUCTION TO ART - This fun class will cover introductory level drawing, painting, and artistic creation. Students will learn how to work with different mediums to create and express and will have the opportunity to display their work at school performances and events throughout the semester.

INTRODUCTION TO FITNESS - This class will provide an overview of general health and fitness concepts, physical activity and exercise through play and sports-related activities, and will provide exposure to proper warm-up techniques and strength training. Students will also have the opportunity to strengthen friendships and social skills through teamwork and collaborative play! A variety of sports activities and games will be included.

INTRODUCTION TO FITNESS - This class will cover general health and fitness concepts, provide beginning and intermediate levels of exercise and strength training, and will incorporate and build social skills through game play and teamwork. A variety of sports activities and games will be included.

THEATRICAL CRAFTING AND PROP-MAKING - This fun class will be a “behind the scenes” class where students will be engaged in creating props, articles, and visual enhancements for stage productions and performances. Students will work with crafting and painting and will be taught how inventive ideas come to life behind the curtain!

THEATRE SET BUILDING & PROP MAKING - This will be a very hands-on class where students will be immersed in designing, creating, constructing, and completing scenery, set pieces and props for upcoming productions. Students in this class will also help move scenery behind stage during productions. This class will require the use of power tools and will demand careful attention to safety and to detail! This will require an interview and instructor admission into the course.

INTRODUCTORY LEVEL MUSIC - This class will cover introductory instrumental music skills and concepts. Students will cover beginning level theory and general music appreciation as they experiment with different music instruments and musical genres. Students will also have the opportunity to create music together and present their work as a group at performances throughout the semester.
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC - This class will provide a collaborative band/group experience where students will have the opportunity to learn and perform songs instrumentally and vocally and will work together to present songs as a performance group at school performances and beyond. Students will gain exposure to music theory and beginning and intermediate levels of music concepts as they work together to rehearse songs and create music in a band-style platform.
