Silas Green (Sebastian) was born a beaver and raised by a family of grasshoppers (his last name is based on the color he saw most of as a young kit). As he learned to deal with living in a field of grass, being told his whole life he had no hops, and eventually having his precious beaver teeth filed down so he could “fit in,” Silas learned about resilience and plyometrics. Last year he made his theatrical debut as Hugo in State 48’s production of Bye-Bye Birdie and then Rumpelstiltskin in Villains, and for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, his parents made a sizable donation to State 48 so he could portray Dr. Jekyll. His hobbies include polishing toenail clippings and nibbling on tree trunks. Silas would like to thank the whole State 48 creative team for overlooking his flaws and accepting his family’s money. Enjoy the show and one of Silas’ favorite quotes: “The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.”
